Seniors (FCE | IGCSE | IELTS)
Preparing for Academic Success
Years 7 and 8 bring together the knowledge, skills and confidence students have developed throughout their English learning journey. At this stage, lessons become more academically focused, challenging students to use English with greater accuracy, fluency and sophistication while preparing for internationally recognised qualifications.
Students work extensively on advanced grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking, alongside the specific skills and strategies required for their examinations. Particular attention is given to exam techniqueσ, time management and understanding how to approach different task types effectively.
Regular practice, timed activities and mock examinations help students become familiar with exam conditions, while ongoing feedback allows them to recognise their strengths, address areas for improvement and take greater ownership of their progress.
English continues to be the language of the classroom, with students using it naturally to discuss, debate, present and explore a variety of topics. Through presentations, current affairs, research and collaborative work, students continue to develop their critical thinking, communication and independent learning skills — skills that extend far beyond the examination room.
Our goal at this final stage is not simply to prepare students for an exam, but to equip them with the language, confidence and skills they need for their future academic and professional lives.
